The article presents the results of work with the exposition of the upper hall of the Gold Museum
during the preparation of the exhibition “Urzhar Priestess and Revived Treasures: the Results of Conservation
and Restoration Work”. The value of exposure perception for the implementation of the educational
function of the museum is analyzed.
The aim of the work is to identify factors that help the museum to present the existing exhibits in the
most informative, complete and emotionally significant way for visitors, and therefore in the most memorable
way. The significance of the work lies in empirically proven methods of presenting the exposure
to the viewer, and in comparing approaches to working with the light, structure and design of the space
and their influence on the memorization of information. The research methodology includes abstraction
to identify the properties of the initial exposure, observing visitors and analyzing their behavior, a qualitative
comparison of the illumination and structure of the space of the hall before and after re-exposure.
The results of the work performed are demonstrated through the photo-recording of the hall and through
a survey of visitors before and after re-exposure. As a result of a practical study and analysis of the results, it was concluded that the multidisciplinary
approach is important in creating an exposition and the need to attract restorers of presented objects and
designers to create the most favorable conditions for representing objects. The value of the study lies in
the conclusion about the visual presentation of the information embedded in the exhibits as an important
stage in working with artifacts. The work is of practical importance as an example of the analysis of the
effect produced by the exposure on museum visitors, and therefore on the fulfillment by the museum of
its educational function.
