Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of Islamic traditions in the charitable activities of Kazakh society in the 19th - early 20th centuries. The aim of the work is to analyze the social role of charity in the context of Islamic religious practice, as well as to identify norms that contribute to the integration of society. The authors focus on various forms of Muslim charity, which served as a starting point for civic initiatives focused on tackling social challenges and advancing education in the context of growing capitalist relations and emerging social contradictions. Kazakh philanthropists were aware of the need for change, actively participating in public life. The results of the study emphasize the importance of charity as a tool for social interaction and cultural development in the period under study, which can contribute to a deeper awareness of the historical and cultural background of philanthropy.
