Abstract

There are analyzed the materials of the settlement of Karatal2 of the Bronze Age. The settlement is located on the territory of the Aktogay district of the Karagandy region. It was opened in the field season in 2004 (the head of the expedition, PhD A. Beisenov). In total, there are 13 dwellings of round and oval shapes recorded on the territory of the settlement. In the central part of the settlement there are 2 dwell ings, located close to each other, thereby creating an «figureeight» shape. The southern structure of the settlement was investigated by the method of archaeological excavations. The excavations were carried out with layerbylayer soil removal. The fragments of ceramic vessels and stone tools were found during the excavations. The cultural layer of the dwelling is represented by 2 periods: Nura and Dongal. The dating of the dwelling was determined on the base of the last data. As a result of the analysis of archaeo logical materials, it is said about the importance of additional research in the area of the settlement.
