Abstract

The role of experimental archeology in a deeper understanding of archeology is extremely important.
Some experimental studies are conducted with the aim of studying and testing replicas of artifacts,
while others are aimed at determining the effectiveness of various operations. Despite this, all experiments
have many common features related to the practical and physical aspects of theoretical testing
and the study. However, the experimental research procedure should begin with the definition of a
specific hypothesis and goal. This article is devoted to the study of existing procedures for organizing
and conducting experimental research, as well as the development of the best option with a clear definition
of each stages of the experiment. The theoretical basis of the study is the work of foreign authors of
the mid.19th- early 21th centuries, devoted to the process and procedure for conducting experimental
research in archeology. As a result, we presented the optimal procedure for conducting an experimental
research consisting of five stages. In conclusion, we summarize that the proposed option for organizing
and conducting experimental research can only increase the degree of evidence, since experimental
research in archeology have the ability to turn hypotheses based on these data into reasonable concepts.
