From the history of development of the national educational institutions in the South Kazakhstan during the colonial period

Abstract

There was a transformation in the policy of the tsarist government in relation to the Muslim schools, expressed in the turn from support to complete control and prohibition. Despite the fact that under the pressure of the religious and ethnic communities on the territory of the South Kazakhstan national schools were opening, the tsarist government pursued a policy of forced christianization and russification.
