New Peculiarities of Development of the Al-Farabi library in the Fourth Industrial Revolution

Abstract

In the modern era of the libraries, such as most other cultural institutions, can not do without the use of new technologies.The components of the electronic information environment-computer networks and digital technologies provide an opportunity to change qualitativelythe traditional methods and techniques of library information activity.
In the arcticle, the example of the al Farabi library tells about the modernization of the university library through the implementation of RFID technology, which contributes to a complete change of the entire library system service, in particular to adopt an electronic reader’s from, open access to an auxiliary the possibility self-service, acces to databases the e-library.
It is considered as a region for working with the electronic portal, the library catalog, the corporate governance system of the university, Internet resources – world digital libraries, online libraries in Kazakhstan and CIS countries, libraries of partner universities. The Al-Farabi library serves the development strategy of our university, providing replenishment,
storage, use of high-grade and high-quality sources of information in the educational system of reader by
creating electronic library.
It is planned to convert the library level into an «intelligent library» using new technologies in accordance
with the President’s instructions «New Opportunities for the Development of the Fourth Industrial
Revolution in 2018».
