Popular forecasts of monthly seasonal changes in the Kazakh national calendar

The article discusses ways to forecast weather, natural phenomena according to changes of the moon phases. The author focuses on the traditions of chronology, calendar, twelve-year cycle mushel and full moons, which was existed long time ago among the Kazakh people. Also indicates that the past time accountants studied astrology called “Stargazers”. They could prevent a massive loss of livestock with methods of observation of changing weather. Stargazers kept track of shifts phases of the moon, which was very important for livestock. Analyzed the fact that the beginning of counting lunar phases started from March. Paid great attention to the name of the phases of the moon, which set taking into account the peculiarities of weather and climate specific to each individual period of the moon’s phases. Thus, this article analyzes the traditional folk knowledge of the Kazakh people.
