Since Kyrgyzstan's independence, the course of socioeconomic and political reforms in a market economy, as well as various difficulties in the country, have impacted the dynamics of development, composition, and structure of the population. Therefore, a thorough and comprehensive study of ethnodemographic processes in the republic is currently a pressing issue. This article analyzes statistical data and ethnodemographic processes based on the current state of affairs, and conducts an ethnosociological study of population dynamics and changes in the ethnic composition of the southern region of Kyrgyzstan from 1989 to 2022. The main factors influencing ethnodemographic changes are population growth, migration processes, and socioeconomic conditions. Particular attention is paid to interethnic relations and their impact on the demographic situation. Based on the characteristics of the data obtained and the results of the ethnosociological study, recommendations are provided for improving interethnic interaction, as it is a necessary condition for ensuring social stability and social foundations.
