Abstract


In this article, the author considers the issues of the policy-making of Shygay khan, when he ruled the Kazakh khanate and his life in the early 80s of the 16th century. The author tries to determine the historical image of Shygai Khan basing on the information of medieval Persian, Chagatai sources and on historiographic materials. The author made an analysis of the origin of Shygai Khan, an analysis of the contribution and activities of the khan in the revival of the Kazakh Khanate, together with Khaknazar Khan and the Zhalym Sultan and the process of the formation of the Kazakh ethnic territory. The article specifically discusses the coming to power of Shygai Khan. The author also considers the policy of Shygai Khan during his reign and the reasons for his departure to the ruler of Bukhara. The author considers some concepts on this issue from a new point of view and expresses his opinion on this matter.
