The contribution of historian Z. Baidosov to the study of the history of Western Kazakhstan

This article focuses on the contribution of the Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor Z. Baidosov, to the study of the history of Western Kazakhstan, especially the Aktobe region. The author aims to analyze the role of this academician in the development of domestic historiography and to identify features of his scientific work.
The author uses the methods of historicism and objectivity, comparative-historical, systemic, and source-based analysis. The study uses the academician’s works and the archives of Kazakhstan and Russia as sources of information.
The novelty of this research is an attempt to analyze the academic heritage of Professor Z. Baidosov and his significant contribution to the study of the history of Kazakhstan, especially the Aktobe region, in the context of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Moreover, special attention is drawn to the use and publication of documents on the repression of the people of Kazakhstan.
The author concluded that the academic contributions of Zakiratdin Baidosovich Baidosov are significant for developing historical consciousness, studying the history of the region, and introducing the world to the rich heritage of Kazakhstan.
