Abstract

The social structure of the Kazakh nomadic society of the XIXth century is analyzed in this article. Administrative and territorial reforms, carried out by Russian authorities in the Kazakh steppe in the first half of the XIX century contribute to the formation of posts for representatives of the Kazakh elite, in particular senior sultans in the West Siberian general governorate, sultans in Orenburg General Government, county, chiefs, etc. The introduction of «Table of Ranks» of the Emperor Peter, peculiarities and orders of nominating civilian and military officials, as well as classroom positions play an important role in the formation of the nobility on the territory of the Kazakh Steppes, and especially the. Kazakh sultans, received the rank of the 8th grade, have the right to enter into privilege class of the Russian Empire – private or hereditary nobility. Spreading secular education (education in military schools, gymnasiums, etc.) is the next factor of the possibility of joining representatives of the Kazakh nobility into the Russian nobility. Graduates of these schools have the right to apply for positions in local government and accordingly to get rank and process of entering the nobility
