Abstract

The article consequences of the famine of 1921-1923 which captured many regions of KSSR and caused the mass epidemics which were reflected in position of children are considered. Activity, party and state bodies, and public organizations in these conditions for rescue of children is analyzed.In a research definition of a concept (term) «homelessness» and its evolution in the 1920th and also identification of a role of military operations and their consequences on emergence of mass children’s homelessness is opened. On the basis of archival sources the facts, about the number of street children, both on the republic, and on regions are given. The main reasons for children’s homelessness are considered and sanitary conditions of orphanages are shown. In the conclusion authors come to a conclusion that the children’s homelessness was a consequence of the heavy economic and social situation of the republic caused by war, hunger, ruin.
