Abstract
The image of Japan, like the image of other countries, has changed over time due to political, eco- nomic and cultural factors. Japan, as a country aggressor during the war, was at a disadvantage in forming the image of the country. However, after the collapse of the bipolar system, the process of globalization is changing the nature of international relations at the global level. These changes were in Japan also. In the process of globalization, Japan is faced with the problems of changing the country’s image from negative to positive. This paper analyzes the changing image of the country in the era of globalization, as well as the cultural diplomacy of the Japanese government, which influenced this process.
